Welcome to Raccoon 101
This site is devoted to providing resources for this terribly misunderstood species. Whether you’ve found a potentially orphaned raccoon, are interested in becoming a wildlife volunteer (you are so desperately needed), want to research raccoon pet ownership laws in your state, or you already own a pet and would like to find more ideas for enrichment, we hope you find this site to be useful.
WILDLIFE REHABILITATORS RECEIVE ZERO GOVERNMENT FUNDING.
It costs $900 to raise and release ONE RACCOON (vaccinations, deworming, formula, and months of weaning/dry food), and vet bills run in the thousands for injured juveniles and adults. Please consider donating money or supplies when dropping off animals, and be willing to safely transport animals to show Rehabbers your appreciation since we are normally waking up every two hours for feedings while working full-time jobs, so finding time to come pick up animals is almost unheard of during spring/baby season.
